Take a pistol like soldiering gun and plug it into a 120v receptacle. Hang a amp clamp in the heating loop. How much current do you think you will read? The gun is rated 120v, 60cy, 1.2 amps. Please explain your answer.

Might want to use heat gun for the degres cause there is no current coming out the tip of that gun.

Between 12 and 24 amps depending on the gun. The transformer is either a 12 or 6 volt output.

you cannot plug a pistol into a 120v recept. FAIL

the gun is rated at 1.2 amps. So 1.2 amps. Unless of course it is not plugged in then the answer is 0 amps

The return current cancels itself out you read 0. If you havent BBQ'd the tester.
