Your avatar can be a cartoon or a photo.

If you want a cartoon then first go to http://avatars.yahoo.com/ and create one.

Once that is done go to your Yahoo Answers profile at http://answers.yahoo.com/my-activity/edi%E2%80%A6

Click on "update photo or avatar" and a small window will open.

To add a new "photo" avatar click on "add photo".

Select the photo you want to use.

After clicking "use selected photo" be sure to click "submit"
