Help with Trig. problem!!!?
Cot(x)Cos(x) = Cos(x), solve the equation and find all solutions in the interval [0 , 2pi).
Okay, so I got Cot(x) = 1, and the answers I got are x = pi/4 and x = 5pi/4.
But the answers on the back of my textbook also include pi/2 and 3pi/2, which I find ridiculous because at those 2 points, the cotangent function would be undefined. Is it me or the book wrong?

Ops my bad, it's not undefined, it should be equal to zero. Sr!

if cos(x)=0 we were not allowed to divide by it so we would of had to rule it out better way to of found all answers would of been
cot(x)cos(x)-cos(x)=0
cos(x)(cot(x)-1)=0
cos(x)=0 or cot(x)-1=0
that is where your other two solutions come from
