Do cars create carbon dioxide or carbon monoxide?

If they create carbon monoxide then does it become carbon dioxide when released into the air?

Both. These are the products of almost any kind of combustion, whether it be your car, a wood fire, or a cigarette.

    Cars create both of them.

After released into the air, carbon monoxide produced by car isn't transformed into carbon dioxide because carbon monoxide should be treated in high temperature (say higher than 500 C or about 900 F) to convert it into CO2.

Carbon monoxide and other non CO2 and water vapour emitted materials come about due to incomplete combustion.
