Car LED strip connected to interior Dome Light?
Im trying to install LED strips under the the car, just like neon.
i know its illegal, so switch is handy.
BUT instead of connecting directly to the car battery with switch for the LED, im thinking of connecting to the front interior dome light/ or map light.
that way, the LED will only light up when dome light turns on.
since my car lights up at the Unlock, 60 seconds after locked, and when they are manually turned on; I dont have to worry about forgetting to turn off when the police is near and also i can turn on any time i want.
also, its cool if i unlock to vehicle at a distance and it lights up automatically. (Audi lights up all the LEDs it has when unlocked)
Anyone tried that? Will it even work? LED strip uses 12 volt, and my car is 2011 audi.
Im trying to connect LED strips directly to the Dome in parallel, nothing to the battery.
[that is like extending Single LED to multi LED]
would that still burn anything?

the extra voltage threw the dimmer switch will burn out the switch prematurely therefore must also install a relay
