I make both pancakes and waffles. The difference in the two batters is: Waffles have a smidgen more milk (1 1/3 cup instead of 1 cup). Waffle batter also has 2 Tbs. of vegetable oil...(recipe for 12, 4" waffles) You do not have to grease your waffle iron and the vegetable oil keeps them from sticking to the iron.
Everything else is the same between the two. ...and I love them both.

the only difference between pancakes and waffles and funnel cakes is the methods used to cook them.
Pancakes are cooked on an open griddle with little oil on it.
Waffles are baked in a 2 sided griddle with waffle pattern in it, little oil is used.
Funnel Cakes are deep fried in hot oil.
All of these use the same basic recipes to make.

the ingredients are the same but in different proportions in most recipes.
However, some waffles are made with yeast and no pancakes are that I am aware of.
Waffles are usually crispier too while a pancake is fluffy and light.

I think you mean what's the difference between the batters. Waffle batter is thinner. Otherwise, it's the same.

Peapers is exactly right. Waffles have more area exposed to the heated cooking surface so they are crisper.

Obviously the shape, cooking temperature and the surface area exposed to the cooking surface. Otherwise, their made from the same exact batter.
