siri not working... for the new iphone 4s?

Siri is not working for me either, it appears to be server based. Can anyone Also Confirm that the Voice Recognition in general is not working, for example, go to safari, or whatever, and go to area where you type stuff, and see if you can click the mic icon for hands free voice recognition......thats really stupid if thats tied in with siri...........

I received my iPhone 4S yesterday and Siri has never worked. I've tried disabling Siri, turning phone off for 10 minutes, and then re-enabling Siri several times.....nothing works! So frustrated. Cannot get ahold of anyone at Apple but don't worry I went online to Apple's express lane support and they are going to call me back but the next slot is THURSDAY!

My wife and I got our 4S' today and my Siri has worked all day...hers hasn't at all. I'm currently on the phone with Apple after trying to power off, disable Siri and re-enable, etc. No answers yet. Will update and soon as we "fix" it...hopefully. The first line tech has advised to reset network settings, power on/off, disable, etc. Will keep you guys posted.

Update: After well over an hour on the phone, no resolution. Both the front line and senior advisor could not fix the issue. A case was created and sent to their engineering team. Right when I was going to restore my wifes phone, my Siri stopped working as well. Can't be an issue with the phone, it's somewhere else. Reset my router, tried operating on 3G alone, wi-fi alone, rebooted phone, poweron/off, disabled/enable Siri.....no results. Can't be frustrated with the techs, they were friendly and apologetic. New device, relatively new software app, so there was bound to be a hic-up somewhere, right? We'll see what the resolution is from the engineering folks at Apple.

My siri and voice recognition on the keyboard had not worked since I got it about 3 hours ago. A post below suggested you go to settings and disable Siri and then enable it again. After doing that everything is working fine now.

Siri stopped working temporarily on my 4S, too.

It began working again after I powered my phone off for about 5 minutes.

I also disabled Siri, then re-enabled it under Settings / General / Siri

Even when it began working again it was still a little sporadic but it seems to be working now.

As with everyone else here, my siri has stopped working as well for the last 2-3 hours. Anyone figure anything out?

I didnt read all the answers, but one thing I found on mine when it wasnt working was that it had to have all your info backed up in the cloud. I originally only synced my 4S with my computer,( trying to save some time because I thought that everyone would be syncing to the cloud) Siri does not retrieve any of your information i.e. call my mom, send text to John. from your phone. It retrieves everything from your cloud database. after syncing to the cloud everything has run smoothly.

Not working for me either, even after turning Siri on and off. Last time I used it succeeded was around 7:30pm Eastern. I bet it's all the pre-orders who arrived home, powered up and are overloading the servers. BTW, I'm on AT&T. Might be useful to see if it's carrier-specific.

Mine has yet to work. I am guessing the people that came home after work and began setting up their phones have blown poor Siri's mind....

Orlando Fl, 16gb Sprint. Damn mine was working fine yesterday and most of today, The effing thing can't understand crap now. This is my first iPhone and i'm willing to cut them a break because it's day 1 and they are probably overloaded right now. i have been waiting for 4 years to get this phone on Sprint. I need it to work!! (at least i know i'm not alone and it's not Sprint's fault)
