My film camera randomly stopped working?

I was taking a photo, flash popped up but then camera died. Could it be the batteries? They're Duracell lithium batteries so I thought they were supposed to last for a while and I only bought them about a year ago. I don't have a battery checker. They're like 25 bucks so if I buy more batteries and that's not what's wrong with my camera then I'm not going to be too happy. Help?

My lithuim batteries lasts about 9 months. Remove the batteries from the camera, when the camera is not in use and they will last longer! The batteries in the U.S.A> run about $9-to-$10, for a set of 4 batteries.
