Who will be the most successful 1st year coach in 2012 ?

Given Chris Scott, first year coach and a flag, wins the 2011 award, who will it be in 2012. The contenders being NEW FIRST TIME COACH'S, Sheedy and Lyon being recycled are not included, in this poll. The candidates are, Sanderson (Adelaide), Buckley (Collingwood), Neeld (Melbourne) Watters ( StKilda) and McCartney Bulldogs. On ladder position at the end of 2012, their teams will finish between 1-18 ,but on a 1 to 5 basis,in what order will these 5 coach's finish ?

    1. Buckley - Obvious choice, Collingwood wont be quite as good but will still be up there next year.

    2. Neeld - Tipping the Dees to be a bit of suprise packet in 2012, people don't realise how many good, young kids they have.

    3. Sanderson - Expect improvement from the Crows next year.

    4. Watters - Saints will slip futher next year with Ross Lyon not having done enough to develop their kids.

    5. McCartney - Will be a bad year for the Dogs, don't see them winning many more then 4-6 games.

Asked like a true Collingwood supporter !

    1. With a stacked and marked deck per favour of Mick Malthouse, if the Pies don't end up in the top 4 on the ladder then the Buckley experiment will be a failure.

2 to 5. We are a long way from knowing what cards (players) are in the decks (squads) that these rookie coaches have to deal out each week. Oops ... last part of your Q.... put on a blindfold and pick 4 cards (coaches in number sequence ) ? Sorry, deedubya, better odds on a Collingwood pokie machine !! Lol.

1.Bucks (May have to change the game plan to beat Cats otherwise the team knows what to do no matter who are they coached by. Expecting them to be top 4 or even 2.)

2.Watters (Saints to finish 7th or 8th, new coach to bring new game plan as the one from last couple of years is outdated.)

3.Sanderson (Adelaide could close out on top 8 having Milburn & Sanderson on the board, still another year off though.)

4.McCartney (Another ex Geelong personnel, cant see really much improvement for Dogs in 2012, losing Hall wont help. Secretly hoping they pick up Fevola.)

5.Neeld (Not sure about Dees, still very inconsistent. Hopefully they surprise me. Picking up Clark is a bonus.)

Look at all those Geelong guys Deedubya :-).

I'm going for a Watters (in 3rd), Buckley (in 4th), Sanderson (in 6th), Neeld (in 12th), McCartney (in 14th)

    [Hawthorn and Geelong in 1,2]

I think Watters will be very good for St Kilda - an attacking player who was at an attacking club - an end to the negative crap that Ross Lyon destroyed the talented St Kilda with.

I can't see an end to the Bulldog pain - it'll get a lot worse before it gets better

Most succesfull? How would you measure that?

Buckley has no scope for improvement, so he's almost ruled out, unless the win the GF. (Top)

McCartney and Neeld...although neither club will make the 8, they do have a chance for improvement.(Dees 9th, Dogs 12th)

Watters..impossible situation, the team could get worse before it gets better. (11th or worse)

Sanderson...will improve, but not sure how much. (10th not better)

    1. Obviously Buckley, Collingwood will come... 3rd/

    2. Watters, I dont think Saints will drop as much as predicted (maybe w/Fev?) around 8th

    3. Neeld @ Demons. Only because theyr ecruited Clark or McCartney would be above. 10th.

    4. McCartney, I think Bulldogs wont drop as much as predicted either. 11th.

    5. Sanderson. Esp. if they lose Kurt Tippett. 15th.
