Is Chrysler making a big mistake?

Generally I agree with going with one minivan, I just think it is a mistake to go with the Chrysler Town & Country over the Grand Caravan.

This is one of many mistakes that Chrysler has made over the past few years. Why in the world do they have 3 brands (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep) in the same building now? Which one is a customer supposed to select? How confusing!

They also have far fewer dealers now. You have to drive many miles to get to the dealers that they have left. As you drive further, you will pass dozens of other dealers that sell competing brands. The chance of a customer even making it past all of those other dealers to get to a Chrysler dealer is greatly reduced simply by the distance required to get to a Chrysler dealer.

What are these people thinking? I wish I was king of Chrysler. I'd straighten that place out.

I think Chrysler is trying to make Dodge into their "tough" vehicle category, the manly category, so a van does not fit with that image. Whereas the Chrysler brand name fits a family image more, so the van stays there.

well, they make the dodge grand caravan for the basic family and the town and country for the family with a bit more money and wants more bells and whistles

mechanically theyre the same.but as the previus poster aid its just brand image.the Ram equivalent to the minivan will probably be the sprinter.though the fiat sourced replacement for the Dakota is a huge mistake
