    Build My Own House

Yes, nobody can stop you from building something on your own land. However, you will need building permits and such before doing so. What kind of permits depend on what exactly you're planning to build. This sounds ridiculous but it's true... Now days, you basically need a permit for every little thing you add or change on your property. Pretty sad really... Good luck with your future house though!

It's not owning multiple houses that's bad. What is bad is being so out of touch with yourself that you don't even know how many houses you own. The other problem is related, sort of the same but different. People, candidates for office in particular, who are so filthy rich they cannot even keep track of how many houses or other property they own, and you profess profusely to support the Middle class, are so far removed from the Middle Class they have no idea what the hell they are talking about. For example, Obama's rhetoric about lowering taxes for low income wage earners is an empty spewage because these low income taxpayers are not paying any tax as it is, so 0 from 0 is still zero. That's what's bad about this business.

Yes, you can and it is not uncommon.

You have to follow building codes that apply in your area and may be subject to inspection, especially if tying into public utilities.

Depending on the type of structure, it can be difficult to locate the correct grades of lumber, or to install large items like roof trusses and large wood or metal beams. Electric and water systems can be complex, but with some work and study can be handled, or you can hire a pro to consult you on those systems.

If you plan on hooking up to utilities, such as electricity, natural gas, water supply, and sewer, you will need to submit detailed plans to some government office and get approval.

Depending on where you plan to build, you may have to work with some kind of community group. They often want every structure within sight to look alike, or at least fall within some guidelines, to foster "neighborhood cohesiveness."

If you plan on building within a city or town's limit, you will probably need to get a building permit.

The place you need to ask this question is at your county clerk's office.

Yes, you can do that in most places. There may be some places that require you to use a licenced professional for wiring and plumbing but for the most part you can do it yourself. You will still need to have the home inspected by a building inspector at certain stages.

It shouldn't be. This country was built on people who became successful,as they in turn create the opportunities for other's success. What motivation is there to mkae something of yourself if you get punished by being taxed into oblivion, but lazy people on welfare get patted on the back for constantly having their hand out? A capitalist society is not "equal" and it should not be. Lets take a look at other countries attempts to be equal and see if that is what we really want....don't think so.

yes can build a house with your own hands.. but you must apply for a permit and everything must pass code as well. such as wiring codes ETC.. and you must also fallow the rules of what houses and size are permitted by your local county .city or town.. that your land is located in

Yes, you can do that in America, you just need to buy the land and get a permit to build the house from the township.

You need proper permits before you start construction AND the finished project must pass inspection.

Contact the building inspector's office in your local government.
