My mind keeps running during the night?

Well I was diagnosed with anxiety issues at the age of 14. But, I believe it's gone back further. My whole childhood I was always tired I never payed attention and I was always day dreaming. I remember I was in dance class and such, but I only enjoyed it for myself. When I became aware that there were actual people in the audience watching me, I flipped out. This was at the age of 13, i didn't actually flip out but my mind sort of shifted to the fact that there were people around. It's like I unconsciously knew there were people but when I really focused on it, it scared me. Just it's strange being more aware of everything around me, it's as if the more I learn, the more scared I become. The thoughts run through my mind like a train. I have o.c.d, but just if things don't go my way, I freak out or to prevent myself from freaking out I sit out. My mother always put the thought of "lauren dont give up, be strong" in my mind because she knew that my teachers were hard on me as a child and because I have so much potential teachers tend to get out of control with me. I'm not exaggerating, because I can see it with my own eyes. I feel like it's because I think these things that I attract them, but now that I KNOW they're not true, I don't attract them, but I still think them, they're pretty disturbing, any advice? I'm 17 years old by the way. Should I focus more on myself? Any self-respect advice? I feel like im constantly unmotivated by the pressure.. because I know for a fact that I can do better. It just drains so much energy out of me having these thoughts raising through my mind.

Effective natural treatment for anxiety is shown at * http://your-mental-health.8m.com/blank_25.html and page i. Passionflower (as directed, or 1 drop in a cup of warm water, 4 times daily; view http://altmedicine.about.com/od/anxiety/a/passionf... ) may be helpful, short term, with other herbal remedies shown at http://www.online-herbal-remedies.com/herbs-for-an... or L-theanine: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&biw=&...

If using a RECOMMENDED * brand of St. John's Wort (take with meals to avoid possible stomach upsets) view the websites about it on page B*, and if also using UP TO 50mg of 5-htp daily - http://www.foodforthebrain.org/content.asp?id_Cont... refers- in addition, (or UP TO 200mg of 5-htp if NOT using the wort. I note with interest that in the study referred to, 300 mg of 5-htp was used) take with a very low protein meal, to maximise the amount crossing the blood/brain barrier, with no, or extremely little protein 2 hrs before, to 2 hrs afterwards.

I suggest beginning with 50 mg on the first day, and if no adverse reaction, keep increasing it until reaching the desired level, to let your system accustom itself to it gradually. Google maximum safe dosage. Alternatively, use SAMe, but nothing else.

I'd avoid medications, except as a last resort, and even then, only use temporarily, as they don't address the causes, merely (imperfectly) treat the symptoms, and carry risks, and side effects. Learn and employ the relaxation techniques (begin with Progressive Muscle Relaxation) and the EFT variant for use in public places, in case it is needed there. More, such as Yoga Nidra (a series of easy mental exercises only; no bodily flexibility is required) are shown on pages L, & B, at 8m.com, and see pages 1, & F about OCD, and page 1 about self esteem.
