What is the best bird cage for a budgie and what is it called?

I'm probably getting a budgie around christmas time, and I need to know what cage is the best for budgies and what it's called. Also, can you recommend toys and if any of you have gotten a bird at petsmart, tell me the process that they do there.

Thanks!

Sorry, I have never bought any pets from petsmart, so I wouldn't have a clue how they work.

And I can't recommend you any cages really either ! But get a cage with a square top for better use of space, one with bar spacing where he cannot get his head stuck, and no cage smaller than 18x18.

I recommend a swing, they love swings, and perhaps you could strap a bell around the swing. My bird loved playing with the bell I put on his swing. :P But, the thing I recommend you do NOT get, is ones with tassels or mirrors.

They can easily choke on the tassels while they chew at them which is very dangerous.

And they can easily get obsessed with mirrors - thinking there is a budgie inside the mirror - and when you remove it they will get depressed because they think their mate ( the mirror ) has died.

Also, don't over crowd the cage with toys and perches, make sure their is space for the bird to spread their wings.

I used to take a seat down mine exterior, on the same time as i became into gazing him, continuously. The small birds would come to his cage, through seeds. I by no potential left any of my birds exterior with out consistent monitoring.
