You followed what most gave you joy,
life no toy, but we play at risk
and we honor you, not the tragedy
as it seems things will not change
in rules rearranged
but I pray now for your family
and desperately
May your children grow
in their passion for life,
may your wife not grieve eternal,
as you should be celebrated
Sorry can't do it. I see so much futility in the "sport"
I pray in some way, he rests at peace.

Sparta, Kentucky: August 9th, 2008 Meijer Indy 300 It's an early-evening race, so it shouldn't be quite as hot. The track is literally off the Interstate - you can't miss it. I went to this race last year, and it was FANTASTIC! What was even better was that the IPS (now Firestone Indy Lights) raced *after* the IndyCars did. This served 3 purposes - (1) gave the youngsters a true night race, (2) provided additional entertainment for the fans after the IndyCars, and (3) spread out the crowds leaving the track, as some people left after the IndyCar race ended. After the race, I barely had to wait to get back on the Interstate. Tickets for the race should be available, and do *not* worry about sitting as high as you can - there really isn't a bad seat in the house! And the track is extremely fan-friendly. As for other races within relative driving distance, there are two others: Indianapolis (May 25th) and Nashville (July 12th). Tickets should be avaliable for both. Indy is just full of history, and Nashville is an intriguing twist, since it is a concrete track, rather than tarmac (asphalt). If you can't attend a race, I do like the suggestion of "Race Control" offered by the IndyCar series. It's $40/season, but you get to watch the races live. I would purchase this if I didn't live in the Midwest. However, I'm heading to 5, possibly 7, races this year, so I might not get the full benefit of the package. Worth considering, though. Enjoy the racing!

BQ Prayers for the family
I normally don't say anything, but yeah it is a shock when someone so young dies, weather they are a race car driver or anyone else, they are not asking for it nor do they have a disregard for life. or do they think watch me I might die.. it amazes me, well perhaps it doesn't some of the things people say on here, whoops , guess I did too. RIP Dan.
