Can I set up a MS Outlook rule to move read messages to a given folder but keep in inbox until read?

So say I have client A, B and C. I want email from all three to show up in my inbox as normal, all together. But after I read the message from client A and B I want them to automatically be moved into sub-files of my inbox associated with each client, and removed from my inbox. I only want this done after they have been read. Any way to automatically do this?

I do realize I can move a copy into the folder as they come in and then just manually delete the read message from the inbox, but why work harder if the computer will do it for you?

Thanks!

Update:

My husband is a creature of habit, and uses the account too. He goes to the "inbox" but I might be able to train him as you suggest! It is just one down on the menu bar, so not a big change! Thanks!

I am sure this can be done, though I don't know if you can do it with a rule. You may have to do it with a macro of some sort.

Why don't you just have the emails forwarded to their destination upon arrival and then just open up the "unread mail" folder to see what's new?

wonderful question! there is not any straght-forward thank you to try this. counting on what you are trying to do, you will be able to escape with seek folders and perspectives. you may define a view of "study messages in elementary terms" and/or have a seek folder with particular standards (like from a definite guy or woman, etc.) the aggregate of those could help you a minimum of view the messages of pastime. there is not any geared up-in thank you to type messages as quickly as they're seen, yet you may try looking on line for "rules wizard rule" archives - rwz archives. perhaps somebody has written one that would meet your desires. you may import rules into outlook by utilising the set up tab->rules & indicators->ideas. sturdy success

I have the same issue. when using any smart phone, it will only notify the new messages in inbox folder.

if there is a way to keep messages in the inbox, then after read a rule move it to proper folder. this will help getting notified when you have any new email and keep emails organized based on folders.
