2 AnswersBuying & Selling6 years agoCompletely wireless computer monitor?
I know I can use tablets, but I have the computer monitors already and like their size. I have several in a conference room, and we use them so that individuals can get a good look at something on the screen. We also use a projection screen, but it can be hard to see.
The setup works well, but I hate all the wires. I know I can make the monitors wireless to the computer, but there is still the power issue. Is there such a thing as a battery adapter I can also attach to the back of the monitor and have it truly wireless for a few hours for a meeting?
1 AnswerMonitors6 years agoWho/when are you expected to tip?
The tipping culture always confuses me. I tend to feel a need to tip people in service jobs, like food service, maid services, valet drivers, etc.
I would like some other people's opinion or understanding of tipping etiquette. What do you use as your determination if tipping is appropriate? Is it the service provided? The amount of money you think they make? Etc
2 AnswersEtiquette9 years agoDo you/did you tip your Dish Network installer?
I got installation for free.
Would it be proper to tip the tech who comes by? Or would tipping be odd?
If so, like what, $20?
3 AnswersEtiquette9 years agoCan I set up a MS Outlook rule to move read messages to a given folder but keep in inbox until read?
So say I have client A, B and C. I want email from all three to show up in my inbox as normal, all together. But after I read the message from client A and B I want them to automatically be moved into sub-files of my inbox associated with each client, and removed from my inbox. I only want this done after they have been read. Any way to automatically do this?
I do realize I can move a copy into the folder as they come in and then just manually delete the read message from the inbox, but why work harder if the computer will do it for you?
Thanks!
3 AnswersProgramming & Design10 years agoHow do I get to the Outlook 2007 temporary folder, was ..\temporary internet files\content.outlook in XP?

3 AnswersSoftware10 years agoWhat happened to "RUN" in the new windows?
I hate that they changed so much on my on the new OS. Where is "run" now?
Or if they got rid of it, where is the Temporary Internet files folder found?
I have a lost document likely stuck in a temporary internet file.
6 AnswersSoftware10 years agoHELP! Where can I find opened attachments in outlook 2007 (temporary folder)?
OK, it is a bad habit, but I open attachments to emails and work on them without doing "save as" and just hitting "save". I just added 7 pages to a document, hit save and closed the document. I cannot find it now! Searching for the file name gives no results.
I assume it is in a temporary folder. In the older operating systems I would go to "run" and type %temp% but now I cannot even find the "run" option!!!!!!!
HELP! I need to get this document for tomorrow and don't want to stay at work all night re-typing it!
1 AnswerOther - Computers10 years agoWhat to do with tons and tons of buckets?
My husband is a residential and commercial painter. He acquires a TON of buckets, many he uses again and again, but many are unusable or no good. He has filled the garage over the last three years with leftover buckets, some still with some paint, but most empty. Mostly 5 gallon buckets.
What are you supposed to do with them? Is there recycling? What about ones with paint?
We are in northern Nevada.
His company will not help and expect him to supply all equipment and handle all excess materials and the like.
5 AnswersGarden & Landscape10 years agoAre you supposed to bring gifts for the engaged on an Engagement Dinner invite?
My sister is getting married. His family wanted to have an "engagement dinner" celebration where we all go out to eat together in celebration of the event. Kind of a "getting to know you" event for the two families.
Are you supposed to bring a gift or card for the engaged couple? Should we bring something for the parents on his side? Anyone have experience with this procedure? I did not do anything like this when my husband and I got engaged and have not been to anything like this before so any experience will help shed some light on things. Thanks.
4 AnswersEtiquette10 years agoWhat happened to the search companion in Windows?
You know, the little dog that would help you search file folders for keywords, or based on size, or date?
I cannot figure out how to do the more advanced searches in the new Windows. Did they get rid of the search companion and all the neat features?
This guy: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/archive/9...
I want that same feature in the new windows...where did they hide it or what did they replace it with?
1 AnswerSoftware10 years agoHelp with custom Outlook actions. I want to automatically take an email and "save as" a file on my computer?
NOT the .pst stuff.
You know, like how you can drag and drop an email in a Windows folder or click an email and "Save As" an HTML on your computer. I want to set up a rule or macro or script that will take a message from person A and automatically move/save a copy in a folder on my hard drive for email from that person.
It has been 7 years since I've done any VB so I am a bit rusty and I haven't written my own script in Outlook before, but have in Access and of course programming in visual studios. So I am familiar with programming, just really rusty.
If there is already an add-in for this that would be great!
Also, can i keep a copy marked as "not read" in my inbox but move it to a folder called "sorted" so I know there is a copy of it on my hard drive as a HTML so I can just read and delete with no troubles?
Thanks for ANY help or pointing me to some help!
1 AnswerProgramming & Design10 years agoPoll: Do you shop at chain pet stores or a local fish store for your fish?
If you shop at PetCo, PetSmart, or Walmart, or a similar chain store, is there a reason you do not go to the local fish store (or are the chains the only game in town)?
Also, do you pick up the magazines, care sheets, and books at these stores? Do research only online? Or only use the advise from whatever employee was there that day?
16 AnswersFish1 decade agoAdobe and new Windows operating system trouble?
I access a lot of PDF documents online which seems to want the Adobe Viewer, and I also have Adobe Professional. Since I've upgraded to the new Windows operating system, Adobe Viewer doesn't work all the time, sometimes a PDF online opens, sometimes I get a blank error box and a blank page. I thought originally it was only happening when I had another Adobe file open, but that is not the case. There seems to be no pattern on when it will or will not open a PDF online....
Anyone know how to fix this?
1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoIn the new Windows I have a question on how to stop windows from maximizing?
I just got a new computer and operating system. I'm still getting used to the new layout that Windows came up with. I am a multitasker and often have two or three small windows open, pulling information from one to add into a spreadsheet open in another. I need to move the smaller windows around and am getting super frustrated with the new set up because if you take a small window and move it too close to the edge of the screen, it maximizes! How do I stop it from doing this? I want to be able to put a reduced window near the edge of the screen without it changing sizes....
1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoPoll: Which acclimation technique do you use for new purchases?
Just curious.
Please detail your approach and specify if it is saltwater or freshwater.
I use the drip method.
4 AnswersFish1 decade agoPoll: Do you use a quarantine tank?
It is always recommended that every aquarium keeper have a ready and waiting quarantine tank for those new purchases and any established fish that get sick....but most people ignore this advice, buy a fish and just throw it in or try to treat a sick or injured fish in the main tank with the rest.
So, I was just curious, do you quarantine your fish?
If not, what do you do instead (nothing and hope, dip/bath, medicate entire tank, etc)?
