Joey Barton: Philosopher or simply a d!ckhead?

"If I didn't have an opinion, I'd cease to exist."

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11711_7248384,00...

So profound

.

Update:

@Peter: Here's an example of Barton being a d!ckhead again, not that more examples should be needed:

"I came here and was told he was a genius, but I'm yet to see it. I don't know whether that is because he doesn't work hard enough or that he tends to sulk."- Barton talking about QPR young star Adel Taarabt

Update 2:

@GYBO: Very true, I think the FA like him being a d!ckhead, it gets more attention for the league. Even if it's negative attention.

I just thought that quote was the epitome of Barton trying to sound like an intellectual, instead he sounds like self-important douche.

The Fa contribute more to Joey Barton's off-the-field image than he does himself, when they organise stupid meetings like this they're simply inviting him to rebel, of course he's not gonna tone down his opinions on Twitter and within hours its gonna be public knowledge like "the Fa tried to silence me.... but I'll never be silenced" type thing.

Hypotheticaly if Barton gets his Twitter account closed tomorrow by the Fa, then he goes down in history as an internet martyr.

    lol@that comment

why u ppl hating on barton for?, his a changed man, a man whos into football politics now

yeah that was harsh from barton, barton needs to understand that taarabt ripped up the championship so he should of watched his championship games but we all know prem is different to the championship but taarabt deserved to be there with qpr, while at the same time, how does taarabt feel getting stripped of the captaincy with barton replacing him lol

  • Joey is a rebellious boy, he does the exact opposite you tell him not to. It is weaved in his genes so I suppose that is what he means when he said "If I didn't have an opinion, I'd cease to exist." FA should know better. But whoever(FA) forgets history is destined to repeat it.

I personally like him & his passion for the game.

If England had a player as passionate as Barton is, we might get somewhere instead of believing everything that comes out the medias mouths.

he doesnt have to fall under one of these categories..

he's original and a real character. he reminds me of gazza, or shearer and i think we miss these kind of lads in the epl these days. #love him or hate him.
