I saw a sign at the OWS protest that said, "Robin Hood was right". What are these liberals for?

Wasn't the story of Robin Hood about a man who would take tax money back from an over inflated government and give it back to the tax payers?

Actually the real life character that Robin Hood was based on stole from the rich and kept most of it for his self. He gave he poor food not gold.

Just like Al Capone set up soup kitchens and fed more people than the government.

Legend has it that Robin Hood stole from the rich to give to the poor. In the ideal, the rich in this case had exploited the poor and therefore deserved to be robbed. The ideal is the same, though it is difficult to say what the actual motivation was for Robin Hood.

Maybe we should find out where that person lives and steal from them, then give all their belongings to someone who is worse off then they are. Being rich or having money is relative, the person with that sign might be well off or 'rich' compared to someone else. So next time you see a robin hood sign, ask that person if its ok for a poor person to break into their house and steal their stuff

i think the occupy movement is trying to address: 1. war, 2. jobs, 3. outsourcing/off-shoring, 4. personal debt, 5. consumer confidence, 6. housing credits, 7. energy, and 8. quality of life issues under an inept government

robin hood was about a thief that would straight up steal from the rich and give to the poor. That person with the sign wants something for nothing.
