Mid to lower back has gone completely sore and is very painful?

I am in this musical that requires that we fall down as if we were suddenly shot. We don't have tumbling mats or any kind of cushion, and being dedicated to the musical I've been falling onto the hard wood floor as if it were the real performance each time. Now my back hurts like a mother..Please help!

I believe you may have stressed your back and though it may be strained, it could also be giving you pain because of a tiny amount of bleeding inside. This is what can cause pain in a wrenched ankle for instance. If you can, try taking Advil or some OTC ibuprophen as it is more specific (designed) to help the tiny leaking subside, reduce inflamation and let the healing start. Thdamage you are experiencing sounds very painful and could take a while to correct (months). You should immediately cease the present drop to the floor technique you have been using!

Additionally, be brave and tell whoever is running the show that you have to change your falling technique and ask for some tips. If they are a good director, they will understand and not want their players to get damaged with an over enthusiastic reaction. Maybe there is someone who could catch you? Have fun but don't keep pushing it. It could put you right out of the show. Not sure if it's high school production or something else, but either way you should get the advice and coaching of the director.
