I would also urge caution with using RS to learn a language such as Russian. The Russian edition of RS is not really suitable for serious language learning.

I would recommend visiting the following sites to learn the basics:

    http://masterrussian.com/

    http://www.russianforfree.com/

These two website have a selection of articles and exercises for Russian learners of all levels. Make sure that you have the basics covered (such as the alphabet, basic pronunciation, basic grammar).

Once you have a little more experience with Russian, I would recommend that you start regularly reading the following blogs:

    http://www.learnrussianweb.com/

    http://everydayrussian.net/

http://shininghappypeople.net/rwotd/ (Russian Word of the Day)

These blogs will provide you with a lot of useful information and exercises that will expand your knowledge of Russian.

Another method to learn Russian would be to watch Russian movies or listen to online radio in Russian. Some useful links:

    http://blog.grammatica.eu/russian-movies-with-subt...

    http://echo.msk.ru/

Once you become a little more accustomed with Russian grammar, I would recommend that you try Grammatica:

    http://www.grammatica.eu/

It allows you to identify the grammatical properties of all word in a Russian text. It can also insert stress marks in Russian words.

You should also try and find a penpal or a skype buddy to practice your Russian. You can do that using the following websites:

    http://www.livemocha.com/

    http://www.mylanguageexchange.com/

Short reply - greed. It is a good discovered factor that grasping folks generally tend to come to be in politics for the energy travel and their possess egocentric causes (repute, fortune, and so on.). Unfortunately, it's those varieties who extra in most cases get into such positions (most commonly through mendacity, dishonest, making empty guarantees, and different such deception) than do sincere benevolent varieties who truthfully care approximately different folks. I believe the one means there would be any such 'global govt' is that if it had just about no energy and the officers bought no pay whatever. But as it's, the US Federal govt used to be created as a "commonly do-not anything" govt with very confined powers and seem at what it has grow to be. I generally tend to sign up for the philosophy that essentially the most energy in govt must be on the lowest feasible degree in which the folks such a lot suffering from it have essentially the most manipulate of it. It most effective is sensible as there's an excessive amount of range a few of the folks of a country, permit by myself the sector, for there to be rarely some thing that's relevant to all. "Power has a tendency to deprave and absolute energy corrupts without doubt" - Lord Acton "A shrewd and frugal govt, which shall depart guys unfastened to keep watch over their possess targets of enterprise and advantage, and shall now not take from the mouth of work and bread it has earned - that is the sum of well govt." Thomas Jefferson

Rosetta Stone is pretty much useless, especially for a language that's as different from English as Russian is. If you want to actually learn a language, I would suggest that you buy/visit:

    -Pimsleur Russian

    -Michel Thomas Russian

    -Russian Pod 101.com

    -Busuu.com

    -A good grammar book

Source(s): I'm teaching myself Russian right now.
