Question is meaningless. Chromosomes? 46.
Meiosis involves 2 divisions. First and Second Division. They separate Meiosis I and Meiosis II.

one gamete has one set of genes. two gametes (haploid - so 23 chromosomes) make a zygote or offspring (a diploid cell - 46 chromosomes)
