Reason why cena became stale?

you see all the top baby faces shawn,bret hart,stone cold,rock all of them just left wwe or were injured,so their glory days as the top guy remained only for 3 yrs max,on the other hand cena has been busting his åss for seven years straight now ...is this why he has become stale?(dont get me wrong ,i am no cena fan)
