Need Help understanding a step in a Crochet pattern?
ch 5, sk next sc, sc in next 2 sc; join with ch 2, sk last sc, dc in first sc
(join counts as beginning ch-sp)—54 ch-sps.
On previous rounds at the end it would ask to "join with sl stitch" however here it is asking to "join with ch 2" and i'm confused on the step to take... Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you!!

The semicolon, if it is being used correctly, is telling you that you reached the end of the row. I think they want you to join the round with: ch2, skip the last sc, then, instead of joining with a slip stitch, join the round with a dc into the top of the first stitch of the round. This will give you the equivalent length of a chain 5 loop. Also you will be able to start the next round in the middle of the ch5 loop.
Could have been worded better. :0)

ok this pattern is wanting you to work in the round and spiral. you will definately want a stitch marker. i use a contrasting color short piece of scrap yarn. you will want to place your marker in the spot before u join then just single crochet into the the joining sitch. as you work your rows move ur marker up so u know where the rows end.
ive tried it without using a marker and it never works.
