Chivalry! Dead or Alive Men? Wanted or Not Needed Ladies? Opinions please =D!?

Just trying to get a bit of a picture of what people all around the world think of it. Personally, I'm a 20 year old guy and i think its awesome. How about you?

Update:

Haha, already i'm getting judged ae. It probably doesn't mean the game thing, but hey, as times change, the way words are interpreted change, do they not? There's no point coining a new term for being polite to ladies because men don't doff their hats when talking to a group of ladies now is there?

I try and make an effort to be polite and curtious to everybody, but i was just brought up by old school kind of parents who tought me to be like i am. So what if I'm a 20 year old snowboarder who wears his pants way to tight and his hoodies way to baggy, at least i try and defy stereotypes, while you just sit there and judge.. Shame really.

I think your concept of "chivalry," whatever it is, probably bears next to no resemblance to what it meant to the people who coined that term.

Lady: Both. In my opinion at least, chivalry is wanted, but not needed. We're all equal people and there's no reason anyone should expect to be treated better than they would treat others. I would open doors for men in any situation where I thought they would get as much enjoyment out of it as I do when someone does it for me. Some people say chivalry is unfair towards men, but I think that is not so much about men giving too much than about some girls not understanding that there are ways they should be giving back to keep the polite, giving vibe flowing instead of sucking it up and taking it for granted.

I like chivalry, but it's a fine line between that and being patronising. All the same, I like it if a guy give it a crack. Even if it's just moving the chair out for me at the table before he sits down himself (not actually seating me, just moving a chair to make it easier for me).

Strange question for someone who is chivalrous, but alive for me.
