NHL- Could history be made?

Ottawa hosts both the 2012 All Star Game and the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Currently, Ottawa and Columbus are in a race to the bottom for worst record in the league. If Ottawa were to win the draft lottery at the end of the season, they'd draft first overall and be the host city for the draft. For a trivia question- when is the last time this happened, what year, what team, and who was drafted?

EC- This draft was historic for two reasons. What were they?

Update:

Shakey has one of the two reasons correct...first draft out of MTL...yes. And the other reason would totally blow your mind.

Well I gave it 10 min to be fair.

1985 - Toronto. The Leafs drafted Wendel Clark, defenceman from the Saskatoon Blades.

EC - First draft outside of Montreal, and the second I have no idea, I'll say Igor Larionov being the highest Russian to be drafted and eventually play in the NHL.

As Shakey said, 1985 - Toronto - Mr. Wendel Clark

EC - This draft WAS historic for two reasons. Reason #1: Wendel Clark. Reason #2 - Wendel Clark. End of discussion.
