My puppy wont sleep?!?

I know that shes lonely, but shes up all night. I just recently got her and every night shes been in her crate, except last night where she slept in my bed and was silent. She will literally whine, bark, and howl till 5am before she finally gives up. I have been consistent with only letting her out at 8 am and Im wondering if i should keep being persistent with the crate( which i would prefer her to sleep in) or just let her on the bed. How long approx will she be whining in her crate like this? The whole house would really like some sleep.

It usually takes just a few nights for puppies to adjust to sleeping alone in a crate without their snuggly family. Sometimes, however, it could take two weeks or so. If you're really desperate you can continue letting her in your bed, but that will only make it harder for her to sleep in her crate. Put an old towel or blanket in there with her so she has something to snuggle on and keep her warm.

    It's like having a baby I'm afraid.

Also, the worst thing you could have done was to let her on the bed, I know it is easy to do through personal experience, she'll have that in the back of her mind, that if she keeps the noise up, you will give in. You need to keep it up, and once she realises your not going to give way, she will get used to it.

My mom used to put a ticking alarm clock (the kind you have to wind) in the crate with a puppy. It seemed to work. They're really pretty cheap if you go to Walmart or K-mart.

put somthing with your sent, with some warm 2 liter bottles in the crate.

the dog will assume it's you, lay down, and go to bed.

a long repeating voice recording also may help!

if your doggie won't sleep, you should give it extra food at night and play with it until it is tired....
