How do I convince my parents to let me get Call of Duty: Black Ops for Wii?
I'm eleven years old, and basically every guy in my grade has CoD. I really want to get it, but my parents are iffy on the language. They don't even care if you can turn it down! Everyone I know that has it is rude, misbehaved, and mean. Believe me, i'm a nice, smart, friendly Christian. I have my money to buy it as well! I'd love any help of getting my parents not too scared of the whole"M" thing too. My mom even lets me play Halo, even which Is kind of annoying because they're both rated M for the same things! Thank you so much!

Hi Henry, you can tell this to your parents or show them this answer if you want.
Call of Duty: Black Ops is rated 18/M ONLY for the Campaign, the multiplayer is harmless, and is great fun. If you get bored over the holidays, Call of Duty is a great way to play and have fun with friends in the safe environment of your own home. Now perhaps you want to play the campaign, but your parents don't want you to. I don't disagree with them as the campaign has got bad language and gore *HOWEVER* when you insert the game, and enter the start menu a pop up menu will always come up saying 'Call of Duty Black Ops Contains mild language and Graphic content, do you wish to disable the language and graphic content?' if you - when you - click yes, every bad word, every drop of blood in the game will disappear, it will be a T rated game, suitable for people over 10 to play! As there won't be a word of bad language, or a drop of blood, or anything bad. With graphic content disabled, everything bad in the game is gone.
I hope this convinced your parents to allow you to buy this game, it is truly magnificent. Good luck!

Forget CoD, get TF2. It's free, has less language, and is, while more cartoonish and unrealistic, more gameplay and originality centric. There's no story you HAVE to know. In other words, a better game. While it's free, you'll also be getting into an M-rated game with (1 a nice community and (2 many other players of varying ages. Just seriously stay off of voice chat until you're 13.
Also, explain it to your parents this way:
It's free. The players are pretty much nice everywhere. It's unrealistic. It's lasted 6 years, and is still getting updates. It was rated at a time when ratings were tougher. It'd be T now.
Source(s): Common sense for preferring TF2 Common sense for putting gameplay above graphics Common sense for knowing that it'd be rated T now I'm 12 - 10 years ago
Maybe ask them if they'll rent it and play it to see how bad it really is. Maybe they'll see it isn't all that bad and let you get it. Or you could just buy it behind their backs =)
