Why do TRUCK DRIVERS drive so slow and hog the fast lane?
It's been pondering in my mind for days. Yesterday I was going to work and there were two lanes before you get on the main interstate and these two big rigs were blocking BOTH going slow as hell leaving a trail of cars. Then once one of em finally moved he didn't even turn on his signal and was about to get in my lane! So I speed up and that a****** tried to acclerate to past me but he couldn't beat my little Honda accord! I'm wondering why truck drivers are inconsiderate of other motorists?

Truck drivers have lots of huge blind spots. The rigs take a lot of time to accellerate so planning manoevers takes much more road length than for a car. As they're passing each other it isn't like cars passing each other. They still need to signal, but today so many young drivers see a signal and try to block you just from being stupid and rude. If tou're stuck behind a big rig, muster up some patience until you can safely pass all the way. Do not hang around the sides or you will get hit because you're in the blind spot. No matter who is right, the car will take the worse beating.
Truckers keep informed of speed traps and will try to protect you , but you can run off right through the radar if you want.
You've never been to British Columbia. Those log truckers barrel azz down the narrow, curvy mountain roads like they're driving sports cars and you better not get in the way. In the USA trucks have a 55 mph speed limit. Keep that in mind as you pull up on them. They can't legally go faster than you. You might be only going 10 miles and you'll get there sooner than you think. Long haul drivers are trying to make 8 hours get them as close to their destination as they can, but one traffic stop can change all that.

Because regular drivers never know who has right of way when entering the highway, so truckers continueously travel in the 2nd lane to aviod them. They do that because they're trucks dont have acceleration and traffic would pile up beind them. In this case it just happend to be the "fast lane".
Truckers are actually really intellegent, really great drivers (you try doing they're job, rigs are ALL standard trans), and really good at math. My Uncle is one, and my girlfriends father. Know alot on how to fix their own trucks too.

Truckers try to avoid the right lane so that cars can merge onto the interstate easier. Zipping around a semi is a bad idea. 80,000 tons, multiple blind spots, and limited room to move versus your civic. Think about it.
