Can you recommend a laptop?

I do not want to spend a lot. Not Apple kind of money. I figure I have to replace them every 4 yrs or so. I bought a Dell laptop Inspiron and it kept breaking. It was one of the worst products I have ever bought. I will never buy Dell. Customer service was horrible. I kept getting a call center in India that would try to sell me things and not help me with my problem, that fun went on for hours. I finally had to file a BBB complaint against them to get help. It broke again today. I will be buying a new laptop tomorrow.

No Dell recommendations. I will never buy Dell again.

Update:

I have a small business. Not much gaming. Just word processing and business specific software programs. Reliability and good customer service are important. The Staples extended plan is cumbersome. Why can't I drop off my laptop at Staples to fix it? They are sure glad to always take my money in store when I purchase items.

    Before I got my Macbook Pro I had a Gateway. It was very basic and it never let me down. The only maintenece problem that I came across was that the keyboard completely shut down on me once. I simply restarted the computer and things went back to normal.

    We need to know the main use for the computer. Gaming? video editing? browsing?

    And your Budget

    I really wanted to recommend Dell XPS.

    My experience with them is great , Very Powerful laptops with a nice price . and their customer service is great! They fixed my laptop Over the internet without me even going to them. and once they came to my house to fix it.

    But another great option is vaio C series .

    I owned a vaio and their customer service is good but not that great . it's also local only , so if you travel so much , you need to buy the international option.

    Ultimate Suggestion is a macbook pro 13''. you'll curse the day you ever owned windows pc<it's true

    COMPAQ AND HP BOTH ARE GOOD AND VERY AFFORDABLE.
