My sister is about 20 weeks pregnant, still doesn't know what to do!?

My sister is about 20wks pregnant, and she still has no clue what to do. She is thinking about abortion, and I told her not have one. It is way too late to start thinking of something so cruel like that. She has yet been to a "baby" doctor. She was confirmed pregnant at PP, and doesn't even seem to mind about the health of her baby. I keep telling her to get her prenatal and check ups, they are very important to a baby's life. Is there anything I can tell her to help her make the decision to have the baby, and if she doesn't think she can handle it, give it up for adoption. By the way did I mention she was 16? : / Idk I am scared for that baby's health.

Wow all she has to do is wait another week and her baby could live if born prematurely. Plus having a elective abortion at this VERY late date could hurt her.

I say you go get some print out of parents that want to adopt. There are MANY people that would help her and raise the baby. There are SO MANY OF US that have been waiting for years.

Show her the benefits of giving her baby to a family to raise and talk to about the risks to herself if she does terminate her baby. That is so impossibly sad.

Maybe get her to a sono or 3D / 4D scan($200) But so worth it. When I had mine I could see my baby and she looks EXACTLY like the scan!

I hope she does not hurt her baby....

    Hi there,

I'm very pro-choice, but at this point an abortion may effect her ability to have healthy pregnancies later on. She is half way through the pregnancy. She can give her baby up for adoption.

She needs to see a doctor.

It sounds like your sister is totally unprepared for this, so I'm going to let you know that there are "safe havens" in the USA, this means that if she, at any point, cannot care for the baby, she can take it to a local emergency room, manned fire-hall, or police station. She gives the baby to a person there, and she is no longer responsible for it. There is no shame in this. It is far better than hurting the baby.

    Best of luck.

Abortion would be murder basically at this point.she needs to go to the dr asap. She has missed tons of important checkups. And has even missed out on like 2 or 3 ultrasounds by now, which u really need to get done. These ultrasounds tell u how many babies there are, if development appears to be normal, how the placenta is doing and if its in the right location and if the baby has any birth defects. The drs will be supportive and help give her choices on what she can do if she doesnt want the baby at this point. I am 27 wks and I have had tons of checkups. They mostly just do urine tests and blood work, check ur weight and bloodpressure and they often listen to babies heartbeat. I have had two ultrasounds one at 8 wks to confirm the pregnancy and one at 20 wks and depending on your drs they often do one at 13 wks.she really needs to get seen.she has missed many vital checkups.

Late term abortions can be performed up to 24 weeks.

Its a 2-day dilate and extraction procedure. Basically giving birth after the limbs and skull have been ripped off and crushed.

Its very expensive, and pretty disturbing, but regardless of what people say, it can be done.

Your sister is an idiot. You can't just ignore a pregnancy. She needs to go to the doctor ASAP and also needs to be on prenatal vitamins ASAP. Too late for an abortion now.

Its to late for her to have an abortion. She really does need to go to the doctor. If she doesn't want it then she can give it to a family that can take care of it. She is going to have to figure out what to do soon because the weeks will go by faster then she thinks
