Since going to a Crossfire setup, performance is worse?

Initially I had a single 6870, and was playing Half Life 2 with all the settings turned up very smoothly, but now that I have Crossfired 6870s, it's damn near unplayable, it's choppy and sluggish. What's going on?

Update:

Disabled Crossfire and it ran a little better, but still not even close to where it was. I wonder if it doesn't do well with overclocked processors? That's the only other thing that has changed...

Seems like your drivers are messed up. It should run just fine, but you shouldn't have seen any noticeable increase or decrease in performance. Try and reinstall the drivers.

it's because the game is not optimized SLI or Crossfire, like crysis 2.I see forums for this game and some players run the game better with 1 gpu
