I don't think some Filipinos who work abroad are frustrated. They choose it to find something for themselves.
I would also like to share this article, PHILIPPINES: A Patriotic Message. The thought-provoking content of this article will truly boast the sense of pride to all people who stay in the Philippines. Mabuhay tayong lahat.

Yes, desperate. Not because Filipinos abroad are landless since they have enough but the salary does not commensurate their qualifications. Like civil engineer at dpwh who curse his previous salary in our office when abroad was able to build a modest huuse in span of one year. Also if Filipinos want to work here jobs are meager.

I don't think so. maybe some of them. we have to understand that most filipinos go abroad because they want to have a better life. you know how hard life is in the philippines. so, if they will have an opportunity to go abroad,i'm sure they will grab it. because it's very hard to find a nice and decent job in phil. these days.i don't think they'll leave their family if they have a nice job in their own country. but they have to. because they want to have a good future.
i don't know if i answered your question. but yeah, this is how i understand it. sorry for my grammar btw

I think you put wrong words on the question you have posted, because in my part, I don't believe that most of OFW's decide to work abroad due to desperate act, I may say that SOME but not MOST.
But did you mirror already if what are the main reasons for some to choose having a job outside the country of Philippines and decide not to stay around, because in my part, I have been experience the competitive applications in the country but you will just receive a low salary rate that is not enough to support your family, see below some of the negative things that the country must lift in order to boost its morale.
*Contractualization – job layoff is everywhere and staying for a few months will affect person’s budget and having a more than 30 years of age, some company prefer not to hire some, some favor to hire new graduates because most of them are willing to receive low salary without benefits in order to earn employment experience.
*Job availability – There are lots of new graduates but most of them are just on the corner due to high hiring competition in the market, there is no enough job for them to provide and give on those newly graduate students.
*Protest – complaint and demonstration is everywhere which resulted on the bankruptcy of the company and ended up on foreclosure, you can even notice that some of them decide to transfer in nearby country like Thailand, China and Vietnam, because such kind of scenario is not that worst compare to the Philippines, such matter will affect the terminated employee.
*Age requirement – if you are above 30 years if age, then your chance to work is less.
*Ninong system – if there is no one that will back you up, then you are automatically failed because they prefer such system than qualification.
Still so many lists to say, but what I said are enough for me to utter some things bulging on the back of my mind.

there are 2 kinds of OFW's: those with an opportunity and those without a plan.
i admire OFW's who were hired/recruited/pirated by foreign companies for their skill and/or prior experience... but those who just left hoping someone will hire them are desperate. then again, i don't blame them if they are because being desperate to provide for a family back home speaks of their motivation. what else will those people do if they'll get paid better abroad?

First of all before you start insulting Filipinos who are making sacrifices by being away from their family to work abroad in order to support their families back home, to send their children to good schools, please learn your English!
You call them hardworking, responsible people!

desperate for a speedy wealth even risking family life.
there is a saying
no amount of success can compensate failure in the home.
