Horse fall.. Should I go to ER?
My horse is a Thoroughbred, about 18 hands tall. He spooked and managed to toss me off to the side when he made a sharp turn(I had lost my stirrups and didn't expect him to turn; I thought he'd stop!)
So, anyway. I fell about 6ft(top of his back is about that high) and very hard into the arena sand. When I got up right away to catch him, my legs were a bit shaky but I thought it was just the adrenaline because nothing really hurt.
A day later, my left thigh hurt REALLY bad to walk on, and putting weight on my right sent sharp pain through my lower back, near my kidneys. (Keep in mind, I already have scoliosis) I stayed home from school for a few days because of the pain I felt through walking, and then I realized my ribs hurt when I breathe on my left side. Not unbearable pain, but it does hurt pretty significantly. Also, my left shoulder is very sore and has been cracking a lot, almost every time I move it, since the fall. Last thing, my stomach hurt on the lower right side of my stomach/abdomen when I walk and sometimes when I breathe.
Today, I was walking through a store, and my chest started to burn when I breathed. It burned so bad that I had to stop and try to hold my breath. After that passed, my back got really sharp, pinching type pains in my higher back along my spine. It hurt so bad my eyes were watering and I had to stand, frozen, because whenever I moved it hurt worse.
Now, Iam starting to realize that it burns a bit when I pee, and there is a tiny amount of blood.(No, it is not my period.) Also, I keep getting these fluttery-feeling things, almost like a muscle spasm, in my stomach. Normally on the right side of my abdomen, but sometimes on the left and sometimes above my belly button.
So, what do you guys think I might have done? Should I go to the ER?
I went to the doctor, but he took no x rays and didn't even feel my shoulders or anything for any problems. He just told me to take Ibuprofen and sent me on my way.
Guys.. I said I -did- go to my regular doctor. He's the one who sent me out without checking anything at all.

Go to a different doctor for a second opinion. There is definitely something wrong.

The doctor is a moron. Anyone who experiences such trauma should have an exam and films at a minimum. Choose another doctor. If you want to go to ER fine, but you will have no follow up with an ER doctor. You need x-rays at least. You do not mention any symptoms that sound neurological, but you should at least have films taken. The symptoms you experience with urination is probably not related but a urinalysis could be done while you are having tests done to check it out. You possibly have a rib fracture or you could at least have subluxated ribs as your problems breathing are indicative of that. Having scoliosis makes you more susceptible to spinal injury due to the fact that your spinal curvatures are abnormal and in a weakened state.
You, in all likelihood, have severe muscle spasms related to your trauma. You need complete spinal and shoulder films at the least. If your films do not show any fractures or a separation in your shoulder and the M.D. has cleared you, you should take your films and consult with a chiropractor for treatment of your spinal trauma. It is likely the chiropractor will recommend some electrical therapies and neuromuscular spinal massage therapy. When the accident occurred, you should have been icing your areas of pain. You likely have significant inflammation of the injured tissues and could possibly still need cold therapy for 20 minutes/hour at a rate of 4 times daily as as often as needed to assist in relieving pain and other symptoms. Such a fall would aways require an exam and then treatment if needed. You should not delay this any longer. Generally speaking, such a delay of treatment will result in your treatment being more painful and more extended than if you had sought treatment immediately. My advice is not an attempt to treat. Good luck.

I was going to suggest going to your regular doctor instead of the ER, but it sounds like you did and it didn't go too well. I think it's time for a new doctor! You have a lot of things going on that should get checked out, especially the blood in the urine. If you feel your best bet is the ER, then go, but I'd suggest an appointment with a regular doctor instead.

You need to get yourself back to the doctor, pronto- and yes, I think a trip to the ER is in order if you aren't able to get yourself seen any other way. You clearly have some internal injuries, although I don't want to speculate as to what kind they are. Pain is a sign that something is WRONG, and you need to find out what's going on.

Doctors can misdiagnose people. Its always important to get a second opinion. But it is not always the doctors fault in misdiagnosing people. Sometimes patients don't always tell their doctor everything.
From the description you are giving it sounds like something that needs to be treated. You need to go back to the doctor and tell him what you are telling us. If he still does nothing you need to find another doctor who actually knows what they are doing. You could also try going to another emergency room and tell them everything.
EDIT: Then this is where you go back to your doctor and express your concern and if he still does not do anything then this is where you find another doctor or try going to the emergency room.

go to the ER you could have any number of things wrong! Anytime you pee blood especially with abdominal pain it's not good! Plus you have need to find out why you are having breathing problems.

Go to your regular doc. ER docs are usually stressed and wanting to find the fastest way to make room for more people.
If your pain is persisting, definitely go to the doctor!

That honestly doesn't sound normal at all.. I would defiantly go to the ER and get that checked out.

In my opinion you should definitely go! If the pain is that bad and your urine has blood in it I'd go for sure. It's better to be safe than sorry. Good luck!
