How do I make a custom picture fit for my Yahoo Messenger avatar?

I asked this question once before but I did not get the right answer. Note that I am talking about Yahoo Messenger and not the Yahoo website. I am wanting to use a custom picture for my Yahoo Messenger avatar that shows up in Yahoo Messenger chats and instant messages. Well, it seems like many times when I use a custom photo, the photo won't fit and the top of it gets cut off or something. Does anyone know what size the photo must be to fit properly?

If you "fit" your avatar right here on Answers, you'll find a crop feature that's just what you're looking for. Once you have the image sized correctly, Save it to your documents folder and use that as your default image.

There's only one thing (I think I know what you're trying to do), you'll never get more than a head-shot of your avatar to fit within the size limitations, ever! For some reason Yahoo doesn't want us to show off our handiwork!

    Good luck anyway. ~m~

Oh! From right here on this page, click My Activity>>Edit My Preferences>> Update Photo or Avatar>> Highlight avatar>> Use Selected Photo>> Submit.
