Do you recycle, or just throw everything away?

Here in Australia the City Councils give us three large bins, one for trash that's collected once a week. Every other week they collect recyclables or greens.

We have mandatory recycling with 3 different plastic containers which need to be curbside by 6am. The raccoons get into the garbage one. The price when we received them was not that much different but now we have notice of much larger bill starting next month. It is good to take care of the planet but this is very expensive. In Brazil, everything goes to the dump and then entrepreneurs go to the dump to reclaim what they can use and sell. I think that is probably cheaper for all involved.

I recycle it all the time now. we have a curbside service too. i feel bad throwing away cardboard when the city payed for us to recycle and its right there!!!!! I recycle nearly ever peice of cardboard even rip off the plastic. I mean just crush/fold it all up and put it in one if it takes up too much space

It's actually easier for us to recycle, we go through a lot of cardboard and other paper stuff which takes up too much space in regular trash. We have a large dumpster for recyclables.

Recycle. It's actually the law where I live, and if you don't recycle you can get fined if the garbage collecters see recyclable materials mixed in with trash.

I only recycle paper since there's a recycling bin at my school.

I think by recycling you are doing what you can to spare the planet from an early demise. It can't only take so much physical abuse. It does not regenerate.

i recycle everything. and many things like coffee cans can be saved and used to store things in. you can make some neat things out of plastic bags . i made a hammock from them by cutting them into strips and twisting them into twine then crocheting them. . it took a lot of them from going into the land fill.
