What is wrong with my transmission?
It will go in 1st and 2nd, and reverse, but not drive. I checked the fluid and it's very dark. Do you think I just need fluid or is it something else?

Dark fluid does not have to mean anything. I had black fluid on current car, changed the fliter and fluid and that was 50,000 miles ago. It is defintely possible your transmission is shot, but it is possible a change of fluid and filter will cure it if the filter is severely clogged. If it is low on fluid that is your problem. But change the fluid--twice if need be to get it fairly light in color.

That could be the problem... It's supposed to be red lol. So you could try changing the Tranny fluid or it could be a problem with your shifter cable by the transmission. I'd check those two things

if it is dark sound like you burnt up some clutches...not good as drive and overdrive are the first to go.
