carl callemans prediction for october 28th 2011?

ive been reading about carl callemans prediction for october 28th 2011. he is saying that the mayan calender ends this day not in 2012. he also states that this is not a doomsday predictions but that we are all going to enter the 9th wave of consciousness that day. i see this as a bunch of new age crap and didnt think anything of it. however there is a website october28th2011.com/2012-nasa-and-the-mayan-calendar that states something big is going to happen on this day, whether it be earthquakes and stuff or the apocalypse. just wanna know if anyone knows if this website is a reliable source or not as everything else i have read regarding carl calleman simply states that the world will enter a new consciousness but no end of world. can anyone debunk this website for me in a rational manner and not with the usual "how many times have they predicted the world and its never happened" answers. thanks

Update:

when i read wat carl calleman wrote i was relaying that information to others. however upon seeing this other website i simply was asking if this is a reliable source or not

    > "ive been reading about carl callemans prediction for october 28th 2011. he is saying that the mayan calender ends this day not in 2012." <

He can say whatever he wants, but the fact remains that the overwhelming majority of historians and archaeologists disagree with him, and Calleman himself is not a scholar of the subject on which he claims authority.

    > "he also states that this is not a doomsday predictions but that we are all going to enter the 9th wave of consciousness that day." <

Which is so vague as to be completely meaningless. When nothing happens, he can still say it happened. Much safer than predicting a doomsday or specific, well-defined event.

    > "however there is a website october28th2011.com...." <

Gee, a website with a preconceived conclusion, based on nothing but imagination, trying to sell you fear and a survival guide. What a novel concept!

    > "that states something big is going to happen on this day, whether it be earthquakes and stuff or the apocalypse."

I'm fairly sure there will be dozens of earthquakes on October 28, 2011, just as there have been every single day for billions of years.

    > "just wanna know if anyone knows if this website is a reliable source" <

    That'd be a resounding no.

    > "can anyone debunk this website for me in a rational manner" <

You don't need anyone to debunk anything. You simply need to think critically and ask people making claims to prove them, instead of asking everyone else to disprove crackpot claims.

    <QUOTE>the 9th wave of consciousness</QUOTE>

    <QUOTE>the world will enter a new consciousness</QUOTE>

What is that "new consciousness" thing and WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ASTRONOMY? I know it's not your fault, but it irks me to no end at how gullible people can be about those things.

Please pick a more appropriate forum for your question; I suggest "Mythology & Folklore" which is under the "Society & Culture" category of Yahoo! Answers.

<QUOTE>something big is going to happen on this day,</QUOTE>

Big deal. EVEN YOU can say that "something big" is going to happen TODAY and open up an internet site about it.

<QUOTE>just wanna know if anyone knows if this website is a reliable source</QUOTE>

I couldn't open the link you pasted since it trailed off before completion. Anyway, since you know what is the site you should check yourself whether it is citing NASA directly or if it is citing sources that cite NASA; those are two different things.

You would do well to listen to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUB4j0n2UDU It'll teach you a lot more than all those crackpot sites combined.

    1) Callenman is an idiot.

    2) doomsday is a tool of:

    a) idiots

    b) con-men

    3) new age crap is still crap

    4) what are the first 8 waves of consciousness?

    5) this list needs bullets

    6) Lindsay Lohan should be freed!

    7) yawn.

"New consciousness" whatever that is supposed to mean. It's so vague that it is bound to happen. I suppose if the doomsday predictors are taking a lot of flak over never yet in all of human history being right even once, then the next best thing is to be so utterly vague that they can't possibly be proven wrong.

    Cheers!

You'll wake up on the 29th and nothing will have changed.

The ability to generate a website does not imply the validity of the information it contains.

If you weren't convinced by the answers to the previous questions you put on this topic, why will anything you read now change your mind? Well? Why?

Along the margins we have crop circles, along the top we see "alien" heads sometimes. That is enough to tell me it is almost certainly bollocks.

It is also promoting a book. More fake. Two crap videos and one that might be genuine.

I would not cross the street to spit on it if it were on fire.

Calleman is not a reliable source. That's as succinct as I can make this answer.
