when I open my computor I get this message. checking file system on C the type of file system is NTFS?

cannot operate for direct access. what does this mean. When I finally log on sometimes I get on and sometimes I don;t. If I get on after 10minutes it just shuts down. Help

there is problum in your hard disk. it have bad sector.
