What is your Favorite Album and why? Also favorite song? Thoughts on their other albums? ?
Just a poll on one of my favorite bands for music class.
1. My favorite album would have to be Waking the Fallen ( WTF ). It's my favorite cause I think ( OPINION ) it has the right amount of screaming and singing at the right time. The guitar work was quite decent. And the drumming is great also.
2. Least favorite album to me ( OPINION ) is City of Evil ( CoE ). It's not very appealing to me. Only one or two was OK. I Already know I'm going to get hate just for saying that. The album was kinda boring. I don't know if it was mainstream or not or even if it matters, but maybe it's not that aggressive to me. And people I know are gonna say " Cause they wanted to make City of Evil just singing blah blah blah and other shenanigans " I already know that.
3. Favorite song- I Won't See You Tonight Part 1 ( Its on the WTF album ) the song was simply a masterpiece. The piano included in the song was divine. The lyrics are pretty deep. The song came at me like a train. This is probably the only soft song from them I like, other than Gunslinger.
Favorite albums ranked ( OPINION )
1. Waking the Fallen
2. Self Titled
3. Sounding the Seventh Trumpet
4. Nightmare
5. City of Evil
1. Waking the Fallen is pretty great.
2. Self Titled was quite good for softness. Why do some people hate this album?
3. Sounding the Seventh Trumpet I loved the screaming.
4. Nightmare was ok, some songs were decent
5. City of Evil- I explained it already.
Also Haters I don't mind if you hate, it's your opinion too! Also A7x fans that Dislike what I say, that's all right too! And If I messed up anything than correct me! :)

Favourite album: Dum Spiro Spero by Dir en grey
Favourite song from Dum Spiro Spero: Different Sense

Favourite albums ranked:
1. Dum Spiro Spero (2011)
2. Uroboros (2008)
3. The Marrow of a Bone (2007)
4. Withering to Death (2005)
5. Vulgar (2003)
6. Kisou (2002)
7. Macabre (2000)
8. Gauze (1999)
Thoughts on their other albums: All 8 of their albums (including Dum Spiro Spero) are amazingly perfect. Extremely talented vocals and instrumentals and very deep and emotional lyrics. Also, the vocals and instrumentals get heavier, more brutal and more extreme with each album. For example, here are some songs from older albums compared to songs from newer albums:
Akuro no Oka (Gauze) - The Final (Withering to Death)

I would have to say Ride The Lightning by Metallica. It's really the only album that I can listen to all day and NEVER get bored of it. The songs sound so freaking awesome with headphones in on full blast. The guitar, the bass, the drums, the vocals, just everything about that album is badass.
2)
My least favorite album would be.... Hmmm, idk. I guess I would go with St. Anger. I don't hate the album, once you listen to it a couple times it's not really THAT bad. Still the low point of Metallica.
3)
My favorite song is Scar Tissue by Red Hot Chili Peppers. I love the guitar in that song, the drums go along nicely, the vocals are excellent. And of course, Flea delivers with his AMAZING bass line:D Just a very well structured song.
If you mean favorite song on the favorite album, then I would go with my 2nd favorite song ever: Fade To Black. The song has good lyrics, an AMAZING riff, and a HOLY **** solo! By far the best Metallica song (to me).
Favorite Albums (Metallica):
1) Ride The Lighting
2) ...And Justice For All
3) Master of Puppets
4) Metallica
5) Kill 'Em All
6) Death Magnetic
7) Load
8) ReLoad
9) St. Anger
1. my favorite album would be aenema by tool because it has a perfect combination of thought provoking and complex lyrics and music, humor and mystique. its cool because one song will be seriouis, emotional, heavy, soothing and psychedellic all at once... a person i know made a great point in saying "tool is the only band i know that you can completely rock out to and fall asleep to at the same time". then the next track will be a goofy and fun jingle or something just really weird and bizarre that you could listen to a million times and still be puzzled by it.
2. least favorite album would be opiate because it was their first record so they were still kinda finding there place i think. its only heavy songs, none of their complex and challenging music that they are known for now. don't get me wrong i like a lot of songs off the album but its such a tiny portion of what they are capable of as a band.
3. favorite song would probably be lateralus. although it lacks the darkness that is in a lot of their other music to me it stands as the theme of the band.... by that i mean if someone asked me to describe tool to them, i would just play the song lateralus.
faborite albums ranked:
1. aenema
2. lateralus
3. undertow
4. 10,000 days
5. opiate
1. aenema (every song is awesome plus it has all the darkness, hope, psychedellic, emotional, thought provoking, complex, challenging, wierdness and bizarre sense of humor that is tool)
2. lateralus (a close second with all the same stuff from aenema)
3. undertow(very dark, disturing, angry, heavy and raw. very little humor in this album, with lyrics ranging from child abuse to sexual torment to a weird middle eastern influenced humorous song about taking drugs)
4. 10,000 days (to me the most emotional, softest and serious tool album. didn't like it much do to its lack of humor and the overall emotional feel of the album was too serious for me. still some good songs)
5. opiate (read the 2nd paragraph again if you need an explanation)

1. My favorite album would have to be the highly-overlooked Pink Floyd album, Animals. By my name alone, you could probably already tell that I thoroughly enjoy the album - that is, IF you were able to recognize that Sheep was a song off of the album.
Any who, despite the album consisting of a mere 5 songs, all of the songs flow perfectly; the songwriting mocking English politics at the time (very similar to Jethro Tull's "Thick As A Brick"); the phenomenal musicianship alongside (somewhat) melodic and brilliant vocals.
You could also say that this album ultimately got me into rock, more importantly the band Pink Floyd, that is currently my favorite band, as has been for years now. My source that I'm often identified by, "A sheep told me.", is a reference to the fact that (I love sheep) this album got me into rock as a whole, and plagued me with an eternal hunger for more.
2. My least favorite album would have to be their debut - "The Piper At the Gates of Dawn". Now then, despite it being my least favorite, that doesn't make it any less of a masterpiece - I'm able to appreciate Syd and everyone else's musicianship and vocals, this album just appeals to me less than every other album of theirs. I could still, however, listen to this album in its entitrety without the need to change the album, because it's still brilliant.
3. My favorite song is "Time" off of Dark Side of the Moon. Undeniably, and other Floydian fans, this song is among their best pieces of work, EVAR. The opening immediately wakes you up an gets you intrigued, "Who the hell would incorporate a bunch of f*cking obnoxious CLOCKS GOING OFF into a song? Eehhh - let's listen on.". Then we get into a bit of a slower part of the song that really shows off Nick Mason's drumming abilities; after that solo, the "slow" song quickly bursts into a faster paced song with extremely stellar vocals by David. It keeps going like that, gets slower, BOOM GUITAR SOLO EPICNESS - my favorite guitar solo of all time. The rest is history. Go give it a listen.
The lyrics of the song also appeal to me - appearing to be about how one's life flashes before their eyes; how boring, dull and uneventful life could turn out to be if you don't kick yourself in the buttocks to get yourself started. Amazing song. Amazing lyrics. Epic album.
Ranking albums..
1. Animals
2. Dark Side of the Moon

4. Obscured By Clouds

6. A Momentary Lapse of Reason
7. The Wall

11. Piper At the Gates of Dawn

I like most of their music. Some of my favorites are Scarborough Fair, Sounds of Silence, Leaves That Are Green, and April Come She Will. I also like Paul Simon's songs Boy in the Bubble and Obvious Child.

I love Jake Lewis. He's an up and coming folk artist, and his songs are really amazing. I've seen him live, and his voice is every bit as good as the recordings. His album is called "Another Time and Place," and Clara is my favorite song on it.
Check him out- you can listen to his songs for free at facebook.com/jakelewismusic

Master of Puppets, by one of the most influential metal bands ever, Metallica. It's one of the best thrash metal albums of all time, It showcased Metallica's array of skills with their 8 minute long instrumental Orion, to their blood pumping Damage Inc. With Kirk's lightning fast solo's and James' relentless riffs, It proved that they could be soft, yet hard, blistering fast, but calm. It's included in countless "Best heavy metal album" lists and is considered to be by me and so many others, one of the best metal albums ever. Listen to the whole album all the way through if you haven't bro, its amazing.
My favorite songs, hmmm....damage inc, battery, master of puppets, welcome home(sanitarium)...i might as well name the whole album
least favorite - st. anger, they tried to go more mainstream by dropping guitar solos and detuning and ****, just wasn't them.
Also i love the black album just as much :D
ps. a7x is ok to me, that singer's voice just annoys the **** out of me, and like every one of their songs has **** loads of guitar harmonies, but thats just me.
