Is there really gold in fort knox or is it empty?

Rumor has it fort knox has been empty for years.

    Ft Knox itself does not. But the United States Bullion Depository is adjacent to Ft Knox, and it contains about 2.5% of all the gold ever refined throughout human history.

    I don't know where they would put it otherwise.

    The US isn't on the gold standard anymore I don't think it matters.
