The war has dragged on for 10 years now - two different presidential administrations and 2 congressional election cycles. Funy as it may sound, this is the longest war the United States has been involved in it's almost 250 year history. The past ten years have shown us that Karzai and his clique of thieves have little control over their country, while Zardari's influence in Pajistan doesn't extend beyond Islamabad and Karachi. The real power players are tribal chiefs in FATA, Waziristan, Baluchistan, and the Haqqanis. That is why a push is being made to find a compromise with them.

Russia, china and india still scare US. Do not get carried away by bravado of the west over Chinese debts, Russian crisis and indian markets. the Ghosts haunt forever. Taliban is reserve force of US.

God forbid, this trio turning against the west.... will make pakistan an ancient civilization . Japan will smirk at the fall of western empire.Europe will need 2nd industrial revolution.
