what to look for in a tv used as a secondary computer monitor?

i will probably be buying a 42" tv that will also be used as a secondary monitor. aside from 1080p what specs should i be looking for.

Update:

yea everything uses hdmi so that shouldn't be a problem.

do i want a 240 refreshrate or will 120 be fine

    A low response time; 2ms-5ms. 120Hz refresh rate is fine. If you're on a budget, Vizio is the way to go. If not, then Samsung or LG.

    The video input jacks on the TV has to match the video output connection on your video card

  • Look for HDMI inputs if you want high definition input from your computer.
