I would say that the DC jack where the charging plugs into is or could be the main culprit of the problem that you are having.
When the laptop battery isn't charging there are only 3 possibilities as to why:
1. Battery (depends on the model but anywhere from $30-$110)
2. Charger (depends on the model but anywhere from $15-$90)
3. DC jack (while the jack rarley costs more then $5 but the labor to replace it is typically $125 if you can find someone with experience replacing it)
Those are really your only options, even saying that its hard to troubleshoot a charging issues in yahoo answers.

yes it may be the jack or the battery but dont throw the charger out of the question. there have been many cases where people have replaced everything but in the end the charger is at fault. so if anything, check the charger as well because that may be the thing not working. they stop working after about a year or so of use. for a new charger, you can look online on generic sites but i would personally suggest topmic they are more reliable and have better reputation. you should be able to find them through google search. make sure the specifications is the same as your current charger (connector tip, voltage, amperage, etc).
if you have any more questions feel free to send me an email and ill be happy to help \(^_^)/!
