The chemical C2H6O causes tens of thousands of deaths annually. Should it be banned?

It also causes cancer, but it is manufactured on large scales and can be readily bought at the store (though it is mislabeled)!

Opinions welcome.

Update:

*sigh* chemistry isn't THAT esoteric, is it? Goodnight...

Update 2:

It's ethanol, alcohol, BOOZE, though it should have been written C2H5OH.

You want to ban something found in natural gas (Dimethyl ether), and its not always bad its used to treat warts. Also banning something that allows for clean fuel (when used properly) will never happen. As well as banning something that may cause cancer will also lead to a lot of bans.

Also you should also know it is relativity non-toxic, but it is highly flammable

By the way that is what Dimethyl ether is a category of -OH group. Ethanol banning as whole could not work due to it being present in outer space. Alcohol (same as booze) is a risk factor not cause other things with that help cause cancer.

About 30% of cancer deaths are due to the five leading behavioral and dietary risks: high body mass index, low fruit and vegetable intake, lack of physical activity, tobacco use, alcohol use. - Cancer official statistics taken in 2010.
