How can I stop certain apps from running on my Android HTC phone?
I have a Thunderbolt HTC from Verizon, it came with some preloaded apps, I went online and read that the only way to get rid of these apps is to jailbreak the phone, I don't want to do that. So I am wondering if there is a way to disable the app or stop it from running unless I wish to use it. Please help, I feel these apps are draining my battery, I have disabled Wi-Fi, GPS, Widgets etc... and only use them when I need them, but every time I open up "advance task killer" I still see a lot of apps open.
EX: Rhapsody, Voice Search, blockbuster, city id, vz navigator, verizon mobile etc...
Thanks in advance

well when you download each app you agree to them using certain infoemation about you , you can clear them but they just start back up on their own in the background a min later
the easy way is to use an app killer set to kill apps every 5 mins , thats what i do and i also am carfull which apps i download from the store and what righst they ask for , like reading txts on your phone..... etc

try downloading "android booster netquin" free from the market, it closes all unneeded apps.
