Approx. how much to rent a log spliter?

I was just at Home Depot rental yard and I happened to notice they had an electric/hydraulic log splitter for rent at $45.00 a day. It looked pretty stout and should do average sized logs, say about 12" to 16" in diameter easily. I do not believe it would do any logs much bigger, though. It had small trailer wheels on it, so you could tow it. Pretty light weight, one person operation.

You do realize that Canada is a huge country, right? And, that very few people live in log cabins? That being said, there are quite a few log places where I am, in the Klondike, Yukon Territory. Rents are getting high though, as the demand is outstripping the supply. Even here, prices vary. A lady I know is selling a beautiful log house, and she is asking $400,000. Other places could be had for $500 a month - no running water or electricity though. There is one motel that runs in the summer that has little cabins - in town though, so, no rural feeling. They go for about $150 per night, but, only in summer. In winter, all those sorts of places are closed, and you'd have to rent an actual cabin, not a tourist place.

find a rental store in the phone book .rent a gasoline hydraulic split-er. I always rented on the week end. get it about Saturday at noon gives you the whole week end to work with I love working the gasoline splitter. 75 logs makes for a good night sleep.
