Unless you have a good memory it is not trouble, but if you do not, then their is only one way.I can remember trying to learn times tables, and had difficulty. But never did home work so did not help. But I can promise you this that you can and will learn them. And if a teacher had told me this, I may have just said then why and how.. And until you ask this it may not happen. And the only way you can is just write them out. on a card. Start with the one you do not know, and only one at a time. And on you way to school, and on the way home, and every time you have a spare moment just read it to your self as often as you can. Do it in a rhythm as you say it. Like 1 -- 3s are3 pores. 2-- 3s are 6 pores 3-- 3 are 9 pores ( the pores just for a moment to give it a rhythm. If you do not give it a rhythm it is more difficult to remember. It is like singing if their was no tune and rhythm the words of the song would be harder to remember. That is why we can remember songs more easier than most other things. Now that is the secret. But you have to keep repeating them when ever you can. Until you know one do not go to the next one. But when you learn one and go to the next one, you also must repeat the first one to keep it in your head. But after some time it stays in your memory. And if you forget one like 7--7s are 4 ??? cannot remember. You automatically then go 6--7 are 42 7 --- 7s are 49 it automatically comes to you. But you now must do some work to learn and to repeat them. If you just try for one month and never stop every time you have time. Before bed , in bed . It does not take long to run through one of the tables. And when you get the rhythm you may be able to learn 2 at a time. I can promise you that if I learnt them then you will learn them. You could do it 3 times on the way to school 3 times at school, 3 times after school, 3 times before dinner, three times after dinner, 3 times before bed and 3 times in bed. This would not take any of your spare time away. And only take say 10 minutes of your day. That is only 18 times a day. Once you learn one this way it gets easier, but you must not give up. It is only you who can learn and do this. I wish some one had helped me with this Information. After one month you can ask yourself how many you then know.Good luck.

You learn them by repetition and practice. In the 'old' days, we were taught times-tables by repeating over and over, and over and over again... :)

Here's a little piece of software called X-Tables that runs on a Windows PC that may be of us to you:

This website also has some free timed practice tests for times tables, which should help too. Good luck :)
