Tmj disorder.....my dentist said i have severe tmj disorder and reffered me to an oral surgeon.....?

What can i expect at my first consultation with the oral surgeon

    It would be in your best interest to find a dentist who knows how treat TMJ disorders before going to an oral surgeon. Surgery should be considered an option of last resort and all conservative options should be exhausted before going that route. Check this site out to find someone who can help: www.iaortho.org.

    Probably a physical exam of your jaw, and maybe some x-rays.
