Hello, I would like to help you find the answer to your question about oral surgeons and TMJ disorder. Here's a link to a helpful website sponsored by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS):

http://www.aaoms.org/tmj.php - The Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ)

This is the accrediting association for oral surgeons with good information to help you understand TMJ diagnosis, symptoms, and treatment. You should find the answers to your questions about the treatment procedures under the topic heading: "The Role of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon".

Your local public library will be able to help you locate other information and resources on TMJ and you can find your public library by using this nifty, Internet tool:

    http://nces.ed.gov/surveys/libraries /librarysearch/

Good luck with your TMJ treatment,

Maggie Hoomes, FSU Master of Library & Information Studies Graduate Student
