What should I do? Who should I Tell and how before things get worse?
I've always had trouble sleeping, ever since I could tell the time, but since I started secondary school its got so much worse. I start to worry that im not going to get to sleep and that I'll end up falling asleep at school or something, I know it sounds ridiculous. Id get worried it was really late and id start to cry myself asleep. It improved before the summer holidays but since September it got so much worse. Id have to check that my door was closed, my ipod was off, curtains were fully closed, toilet seat was down, taps were fully off etc multiple times. The whole process would take about an hour before i could atleast try and relax, then id keep getting out of bed to check things again. I did not cry however. Then within the past week it got even worse, id do all those things however id start to cry, then it got so bad on wednesday at around 3-4am that i self hArmed for the first time. The next day people saw on my wrists and ijust told them it was my cat. I feel like im going to self harm again and im sad all the time. Ive tried telling my parents about the sleep but they just tell me that i'll grow out of it and when they see me cry they get irritated and tell me to go back to bed. Any advice? I apologise that its really long. Thanks :)

Understand that your life is important! Anxiety will not help you. Human beings do not have alot of time on this Earth...why be anxious while your alive?

I think that you should get evaluated by a psychologist. The kind of behavior you are describing with the "rituals" before bed such as making sure curtains are closed and stuff is associated with obsessive compulsive disorder. (OCD) Being evaluated can allow your doctor give your parents advice on how to help you cope with it so that you can finally sleep peacefully through the night :) Medication is not necessarily the answer, so be careful if they are quick to diagnose you and just write you off with a prescription. I think that counseling would work best in your situation.
Take care and hope this helps. :)

the same thing happened to me, try to explain to your parents, ask if you can go to the hospital, hopefully they have something called partial where you can go there during school and that really helps. dont worry it gets better :) best of luck

"I am no longer truthfully a medical professional" "I wont be appearing the operation he (a relatively younger scholar) might be" "Sorry what system am i doing once more?" "You have a ninety five% of no longer waking up"
